An hour to the east of Bordeaux, set within an idyllic and naturally beautiful rolling landscape of vineyards and hills and close to the Dordogne river can be found the picturesque village of Gensac. One of France’s prettiest villages, at the heart of the village lies Maison Les Remparts, a medieval gem surrounded by cobbled streets and inspiring views across the Durèze valley.
Les Remparts provides luxury and tranquility in the heart of a thriving and picturesque medieval village surrounded by a landscape of vineyards and hills. The building has existed in one form or another for hundreds of years; most recently it was a successful restaurant. You can read about the history here.
Easy to reach from London, flying to either Bordeaux or Bergerac, Les Remparts enjoys outside space with wonderful views and sunsets for relaxing, including a private walled courtyard with an infinity pool and a west facing terrace. Or you can enjoy leisurely strolls to eat or drink in the village centre a few minutes away.
There is so much to do locally, in one of the most famous wine regions of the world and with the Dordogne river nearby. We are surrounded by vineyards providing some glorious wine tasting opportunities within a few minutes of Les Remparts and the centre of French wine, St Emilion, is only 20 minutes away.
Les Remparts has five double rooms (one twin) each with its own ensuite, with each room intricately designed to reflect and compliment the stunning building.
