Swimming Pool & Changing Room

The swimming pool should provide great enjoyment and fun for everybody. There are a few things to be aware of for your safety and that of future guests:

  • Our swimming pool is unheated and is opened from 1st May to 15th September each year.
  • The pool is maintained every Saturday, but if unusual climatic changes occur, this can affect the chemical balance. In case of problems with water clarity please contact the Housekeeper.
  • Clean your feet before you enter the pool as the pool will quickly become dirty. A plastic tray is provided for this which is found in the room next to the pool.
  • Use the pool net hanging on the wall to skim flies and debris from the surface of the water. Unfortunately once or twice a year one has to skim lots of flying ants out of the water; this is normal and does not continue for more than a day or so.
  • It is normal for a little dirt to accumulate in the pool overnight as the water settles. This from feet entering the pool will normally mix into the water and be filtered out in due course. Anything that can be removed by hand should be put outside of the pool.
  • The gate to the Courtyard is to remain closed at all times as it is a legal requirement in France that the swimming pool must not be accessible to unsuspecting members of the public.
  • The Changing Room is adjacent to the pool contains a toilet and basin and is used for storing dry towels. There are also some play things for the pool which you are welcome to use.
  • x8 clean pool towels can be found in the Changing Room cupboard. They are changed weekly. You are welcome to use them on the beach. Bath towels must not be used out of the house.
  • Do not take any glass up the steps towards the pool. Use plastic cups and paper plates in this area. There are x8 provided in the Outdoor Cooking Room.
  • There is a ‘no jumping’ rule as it is a maximum of 1.5m deep and there are raised sides for younger children to sit on which makes jumping or diving dangerous.
  • In the event of strong winds please lower any canopies, lower the backs of the sun loungers and move objects away from the swimming pool.
  • There is a cold shower to remove any traces of chlorine which is turned on from just inside the door to the pool changing room.
  • Pool hours are from around 9.00am to 9.00pm simply as a courtesy to the neighbours and to allow for any maintenance. The light in the pool is not available to guests as the switch is in the locked pump room.
  • There are blue tooth speakers available to play music. Plug them in first in the Outdoor Cooking room – they are marked “Speakers”. The code is “012345”.
  • Sun Cream: Guests will be invoiced for damage caused to towels, bedding and pool furniture to remove sun cream damage (which often only appears after washing). Please do not P20 sun cream and others like it.
